Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Macenzie Koning is a client-centered clinical audiologist dedicated to improving her patients’ quality of life through compassionate and comprehensive hearing care. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Central Michigan University, where she also completed her graduate studies, developing a deep understanding of hearing health and patient care.

A Whole-Person Approach to Hearing Care

Dr. Koning believes that hearing improvement goes far beyond fitting hearing aids—it’s about educating patients, supporting family relationships, and addressing the whole person. Her approach combines advanced hearing technology with personalized counseling to ensure her patients feel confident, supported, and understood every step of the way.

One of the aspects Dr. Koning values most is the continuity of care—building lasting relationships and being part of each patient’s journey toward better hearing. She is excited to walk alongside her patients as they rediscover the sounds and connections that make life meaningful.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Dr. Koning is a devoted wife and mother who loves spending time with her husband and their two children. She enjoys soaking up the sun at her family’s cottage on Gun Lake and relaxing with a good murder-mystery novel. Dr. Koning feels truly grateful to be part of the Van Doorne Hearing Care family—a place that shares her values, compassion, and dedication to helping others hear their best.
